Mary Breshears, LPC, CPCS

Mary Breshears is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) with over fifteen years of experience helping adolescents and adults navigate difficult life events, transitional life phases, burnout, and the effects of mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety.

Approaching 25 years of marriage and a parent of two children transitioning into adulthood, Mary has a depth of experiences and understandings that she combines with her professional training to customize her approach to the unique needs of her clients and families. Her professional approach has been influenced by an Internal Family Systems (IFS) model through which she helps clients wrestle with ambivalence, competing motivations, and the conflicts that arise in a culture heavily influenced by social media and instant gratification, as well as attacks on our value systems.

Mary leans on the works of theologians such as Thomas Merton and Patrick Palmer to maintain personal grounding and exercise congruence between her personal and professional values. She is a gifted listener and an avid reader who enjoys exercise, playing piano, and spending time with her family and friends. She has a passion for interior design, which manifests in the environment she aims to create in her home and counseling practice.
